The Hartford is actively growing its Large Property business unit, focusing on a diverse array of sectors, including manufacturing, municipalities, educational institutions, healthcare, financial services, real estate, and beyond.

The Large Property Underwriter will serve as the primary relationship manager and point of contact for multiple agents and brokers within a designated territory.

This role will collaborate with a dynamic team of Large Property underwriters to deliver specialized underwriting, insurance solutions, and risk management services that support the ongoing profitable growth of our dedicated practice.

In a team-oriented environment, this position will work together to manage new and renewal business production underwriting, service accounts, identify key property agents and brokers, implement sales and marketing strategies, and demonstrate a strong customer-centric approach while possessing a thorough understanding of The Hartford's Large Property units' appetite and strategy.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Executive Underwriter title: 5+ years of experience in commercial property underwriting and marketing.
Senior Underwriter title: 3+ years of experience in commercial property underwriting and marketing.
Proven success in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external business partners.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Adept at analyzing business challenges, making recommendations, and proposing effective solutions.
High-energy self-starter with resilience and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
Goal-oriented with a focus on delivering results.
Ability to challenge conventional practices and strive for excellence.
Strong technical knowledge coupled with sound decision-making and analytical capabilities.
Valid driver's license as a company pool car may be provided.

Work Arrangement:

This role will have a hybrid work structure, with expectations for in-office presence.


Compensation Overview:
The annualized base pay range is primarily informed by an analysis of similar roles in the external market.

Actual base pay may vary and could be above or below the listed range based on factors such as performance, proficiency, and demonstration of required competencies.

The base pay is just one element of The Hartford's comprehensive compensation package for employees. Additional rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and immediate recognition.

The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$96,560 - $182,640. The posted salary range reflects our capacity to hire at various position titles and levels based on background and experience.
