Position Overview

Role: Medication Aide

Location: Twin Town, St Paul, MN

Work Schedule:

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Compensation: $19/hr. DOE + up to $1.50 shift differential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administers prescribed medications to patients while maintaining accurate medical records under the guidance of a registered nurse.
  • Confirms the identity of patients receiving medication and meticulously documents the name of the medication and the time of administration in designated records.
  • Delivers medication to patients and monitors their ingestion or application, or directly administers medication following established protocols.
  • May assess vital signs or observe patients to identify responses to medications, preparing reports or notifying appropriate personnel of any adverse reactions.
  • Records instances when prescribed medications are not administered and the reasons for such occurrences.
  • Manages and replenishes medication supplies to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Safeguards patient confidentiality and upholds the integrity of the facility by maintaining discretion regarding sensitive information.
  • Ensures a safe and sanitary working environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience as a Medication Aide is preferred.
