Job Description

**Job Title:** Benefits Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Benefits Specialist to join our team at the Metropolitan Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and managing employee benefits, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing excellent customer service to our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain employee benefits records, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits
  • Conduct benefits eligibility reviews and resolve issues related to benefits administration
  • Develop and implement benefits communication strategies to promote employee understanding and engagement
  • Collaborate with HR team members to ensure compliance with benefits policies and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees, addressing their benefits-related inquiries and concerns

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in human resources or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in benefits administration, including financial analysis of benefits
  • Strong knowledge of benefits laws and regulations, including ERISA and COBRA
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
