Job Overview

The Copper River Family of Companies is seeking a Patient Scheduling Specialist to manage various essential functions, including but not limited to, confirming beneficiary eligibility through the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), updating patient demographic data, and organizing requests for primary or specialty care appointments at Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs). This role also involves processing requests for cancellations and rescheduling appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outbound communications to ensure timely scheduling of specialty appointments in alignment with referrals from MTF Health Care Providers (HCPs).
  • Facilitate scheduling for preventative health appointments and manage surgery reminder calls.
  • Coordinate appointments with other Puget Sound Military Health System (PSMHS) MTFs to fulfill beneficiary healthcare needs while adhering to TRICARE access standards.
  • Manage patient appointment scheduling and cancellations.
  • Handle call routing and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Provide support for secure messaging.

Qualifications:

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Proof Required.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
  • Required Skills/Experience:
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, and other relevant software applications.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
    • Ability to obtain clearance for work at a military installation and receive a Common Access Card (CAC).
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills with colleagues and clinic personnel.
    • Relevant military experience may be considered for some qualifications.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience:
    • Experience in healthcare administration.
  • Training Requirements:
    • Technical training focused on systems architecture, mandatory procedures, security protocols, and operational procedures related to patient scheduling and referral management.
  • Work Hours:
    • Services are provided from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends, excluding federal holidays.
    • Weekend availability is required as needed.

Compensation: $20.34 per hour
