Job Summary:
As a Referral Coordinator with CommonSpirit Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive the necessary referrals for their care. Your primary responsibility will be to process referral orders and gather patient insurance eligibility information and obtain pre-authorizations. You will also coordinate patient appointments, distribute pre-visit instructional materials, and provide cost estimate and benefits information. Additionally, you will coordinate the rental and/or purchase of medical materials and equipment. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

* Process referral orders and/or pre-authorizations
* Coordinate appointments and ancillary services
* Respond to patient questions regarding routine billing and insurance matters
* Coordinate patient instructional/educational activities relevant to the patient's referral
* Coordinate purchase of materials and/or the rental of medical equipment relevant to the patient's referral
* Perform related duties as required

Qualifications:

* Successful completion of an accredited medical terminology course(s) or equivalent on-the-job training
* One year of progressively responsible work experience in patient scheduling/registration, insurance verification, referral coordination, financial counseling, or a related function
