Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean driving record while performing field service duties.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues.
  • Possess a solid understanding of internal combustion engines.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and service manuals proficiently.
  • Travel to client locations to diagnose and repair forklifts and other material handling machinery.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and services for clients.
  • Assess repair situations and determine if additional assistance is necessary, prioritizing safety and skill level.
  • Utilize a multimeter and laptop for diagnostics and repairs.
  • Engage in ongoing training provided by Arnold Machinery and its vendors.
  • Bring personal tools to the job site.
  • Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts.

  • Express gratitude to customers and inquire about their satisfaction with the services provided.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support the Service Manager with various administrative tasks.
  • Ensure a tidy workspace and maintain the cleanliness of the service vehicle.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk and navigate uneven terrain frequently.
  • Lift and carry items weighing over 50 lbs regularly.
  • Operate hand and power tools effectively.
  • Perform tasks that require bending, reaching, and climbing.
  • Communicate effectively via radio, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Possess the ability to discern mechanical issues for safety in various environments.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with other MS Office applications is advantageous.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capable of operating standard office equipment such as fax machines and copiers.
