Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Admit Worker to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a Medical Assistant/Admit Worker, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our outpatient clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform non-licensed medical care in an assigned outpatient clinical setting.
  • Provide clerical support associated with the operations of a clinical office.
  • Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and authorization processes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency/Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical/Back Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays.
  • BLS certification upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Outpatient experience.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs.
