Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Admit Worker to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in an outpatient clinical setting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform non-licensed medical care in the outpatient clinical setting, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with medical procedures.
  • Provide clerical support, including answering phones, responding to patient inquiries, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure exceptional patient experience.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency/Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical/Back Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • BLS certification upon hire.
  • Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment and maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Outpatient experience.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays.
  • Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese.
