Job Description for HR Recruitment Specialist:


We are currently hiring a Recruitment Specialist to work as part of our HR team at our 800+ person research and development facility. The successful candidate will support the recruitment needs of NY CREATES, handling all aspects of the recruitment and onboarding process, from assisting hiring managers with initiating the search process to new employee onboarding. This is a hybrid remote/in-office work schedule.

Responsibilities:


  • The Recruitment Specialist will be the first point of contact for prospective candidates, guiding them through the application process and ensuring a smooth transition to new hire status.
  • Prepare search materials, post positions, coordinate and participate in recruitment activities to promote NY CREATES career opportunities.
  • Guide search committees through the applicant screening process, pre-screen applicants, respond to applicant inquiries, negotiate offers, prepare and send offer letters, initiate and review background screens, coordinate onboarding activities, and prepare necessary new hire information and forms.

Requirements:


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 years of recruitment experience.

OR


  • Associate's degree in a related field and minimum 5 years recruitment experience.
  • Must be people-oriented and detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience sourcing candidates from recruitment tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, or other online resume databases.
  • Working experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Preferred Requirements:


  • 7+ years of recruitment experience.
  • Experience writing job descriptions and job postings.
  • Experience using social media for recruitment functions.
