Position Overview
As a Lead Automation Systems Engineer, your core mission will be to deliver exceptional customer support and engineering solutions through the execution of various projects, on-site installations, and troubleshooting of advanced equipment. You will collaborate closely with clients to optimize and sustain efficient manufacturing operations. This role involves significant fieldwork, with a focus on drives and motion technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive field services to facilitate the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems and advanced manufacturing software applications.
- Utilize specialized knowledge in automation technologies tailored to specific industries, including Food & Beverage and Life Sciences, addressing applications such as conveyors and packaging systems.
- Manage customer interactions, project planning, and site management effectively.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies while providing expert-level support for complex issues related to products and technologies.
- Identify and lead initiatives to leverage engineering solutions across multiple projects.
- Aspire to become a recognized expert, serving as a resource for internal and external stakeholders in resolving customer challenges.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
- Champion Rockwell Automation's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and engagement.
- Program PLCs and HMIs for new or modified equipment using industry-standard software.
- Maintain automation systems and equipment, including low to medium voltage components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in PLC and HMI programming, including RSLogix and FactoryTalk software.
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory, with flexibility for overtime and on-call duties.
- Familiarity with PowerFlex products and applications, as well as network communication protocols.
- Experience with Rockwell's Advanced Software Packages.
