Job Summary

This position oversees commercial administration, including customer proposals, national accounts, sales supervision, and volume, mix, and margin evaluation within a region. The role reports to a Regional EVP and is responsible for multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise a regional sales team, providing leadership to reach company objectives in productivity, quality, and volume while maintaining high departmental standards of customer service and product knowledge.
Regularly review the regions billing register to ensure margin and volume expectations are met, and develop improvement initiatives as necessary.
Collaborate with materials management and account managers to ensure control goals are met and investments are protected.
Assist in purchasing special customer inventory in accordance with established policies and procedures to optimize turnover and return on sales.
Participate in senior regional reviews to ensure company policy, procedure, and financial objectives are met.
Develop sales policies, goals, and objectives to maximize revenues and gross margin dollars for the division.
Select, develop, and motivate employees to maintain a competent workforce.
Establish, implement, and monitor marketing plans and strategies to maintain and increase the center's share of the market.
Contact customers and potential customers to maintain and develop effective business relationships.
Develop, monitor, and approve the sales and expense budget.
Assist in developing pricing and credit policies to maximize return on sales.
Direct the preparation of sales reports and data to monitor the overall sales effort and ensure achievement of sales objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
7 years of progressive industry experience.
5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Broad experience across multiple product lines in the metals industry preferred.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication skills.
Proven track record of excellence in sales.
Experience leading and motivating a sales team.
