WHO WE ARE SEEKING:

We are in search of a Facilities Operations Technician who will oversee and execute maintenance and operational tasks related to our facilities. This role entails performing the responsibilities of a Facilities Technician while adhering to recognized industry standards in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical work. The technician will evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot building systems and equipment as assigned. Additionally, you will identify necessary materials and equipment for tasks and maintain accurate records of expenditures on assignments. Work will be conducted under general supervision, with performance evaluated based on task completion and results achieved.

The Facilities Operations Technician will be accountable for the upkeep and repair of all assigned facilities, serving as the point of contact for emergency situations. Furthermore, this role will assess daily considerations regarding 1) employee safety, 2) asset security, and 3) service to our members. Coordination with external contractors or vendors for various services will also be part of the responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for regional personnel regarding any building-related issues (climate control, odors, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs).
  • Assist the project coordinator with projects of all sizes, including significant repairs and new facility initiatives.
  • Maintain building security and respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis (on call).
  • Monitor and replace light bulbs in all assigned facilities as necessary.
  • Perform minor repairs or replacements of plumbing fixtures, valves, and other devices as required.
  • Conduct minor repairs or replacements of electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances as needed.
  • Carry out basic electrical work and determine when to engage an electrician.
  • Install and dismantle furniture as required.
  • Escort service contractors to necessary locations for equipment servicing.
  • Coordinate and assist with departmental and employee relocations.
  • Move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment as needed.
  • Transport goods or equipment as assigned.
  • Perform immediate cleaning tasks to maintain a clean facility.
  • Execute other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
  • Identify standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices used in various building maintenance crafts.
  • Lead the installation, maintenance, and repair of designated building systems.
  • Keep records of materials and labor used for each assignment.
  • Assist or guide other technicians in their assignments.
  • Report any defects, deterioration, and wear and tear on the facilities through the work order system.
  • Communicate with key administrative and staff personnel regarding special events and functions that may require special arrangements.
  • Collaborate with all personnel in the execution of daily duties and responsibilities.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Required Experience and Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance and care of major facilities.
