Job Summary

Dana Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and reducing waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Design, develop, and implement systems to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize the use of resources.
  • Collaborate with production managers and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop layout plans for new facilities and optimize the layout of existing facilities to improve workflow and reduce production costs.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies for proposed projects and improvements.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to production processes, equipment, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), PFMEAs, control plans.
  • Train and support staff in the implementation of new processes and technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain, to achieve manufacturing objectives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technologies and industrial engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have corrective action and problem-solving experience using tools such as 8D, Five-Why or a similar methodology.
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis and be able to read blueprints.
  • Must have Lean experience, training in time studies with APEX preferred.
  • Experience with PFMEA, DOE and process improvements preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to permit effective interaction with all levels of Dana and external customers.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and / or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple duties and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills along with data analysis skills.
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently; self-motivated to manage through shift priorities and issues.
