This is a full-time position responsible for obtaining goods and services to support project success.
Key Responsibilities- Process requisitions for equipment, research products, clarify specifications, document competitive bidding, and input purchase orders.
- Negotiate favorable commercial terms and conditions into purchase orders.
- Assist in preparing effort hour estimates for potential or new projects and manage the execution of a project's procurement scope of work.
- Follow up on back orders, expedite delivery of orders, and make special arrangements for delivery.
- Communicate expected delivery dates to the field.
- Monitor project schedules and expedite vendor data and equipment delivery to support scheduled dates.
- Update the project team on potential delivery problems.
- Confer with vendors to obtain product information.
- Determine methods of procurement, such as direct purchase or competitive bid.
- Prepare purchase orders and bid requests.
- Review proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Maintain manual and computerized procurement documents.
- Place orders for products using a computer terminal or other order entry device.
- Four-year degree from a college or technical school and at least ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Understanding of engineering terminology.
- PMP and ISM certifications are preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
- Ability to communicate project information to necessary parties.
