Job Summary

The Endocrinology and Metabolism Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, and osteoporosis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient consultations, medical evaluations, and diagnostic tests to determine the underlying causes of endocrine and metabolic disorders.
  • Create and implement personalized treatment plans for patients, which may include medication, lifestyle changes, and hormone therapy.
  • Conduct follow-up appointments to monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as dietitians and diabetes educators, to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  • Participate in clinical research studies to advance our understanding of endocrine and metabolic disorders and treatment options.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in endocrinology and metabolism research and treatment options.
  • Provide teaching and training of medical students, house staff, and fellows, and involvement in clinical research protocols.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program Completion of a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Work Experience

  • Less than 1 year.

Licenses

  • MD-Physician - State Medical Board.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
  • Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
  • Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
  • Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels, and value systems.
  • Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Computer skills preferred.
