Job Summary:

TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY seeks a highly skilled Data Center System Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT operations, you will be responsible for providing advanced computer systems support, working with various hardware and software technologies, and maintaining the integrity of our data centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior-level computer systems support, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and decommission data center hardware, including servers, network devices, and infrastructure components, ensuring seamless operation and minimal downtime.
  • Implement and audit cabling standards, best practices, and training others on data center cabling standards, promoting efficient and reliable data transmission.
  • Contribute to defining Change Management Strategy, developing plans, collecting feedback, and reinforcing change in an enterprise-level data center environment.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant procedures and documentation, participating in quarterly/monthly reviews, and providing updates as needed.

Requirements:

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in IT operations or data center environments, with knowledge of batch scheduling and rack and stack procedures.
  • Graduation from an accredited two-year college or university with a major in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license from the state of residence.
  • Familiarity with DCIM products such as Aperture and Struxureware, Windows/Linux administration, and ticketing systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Compensation and Benefits:
