Job Summary:

The University of Tulsa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of academic and learning technology strategies that align with the university's mission, vision, and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Academic Technology Strategy: Create and execute a comprehensive plan to support student learning and academic success through the effective use of technology.
  • Manage Learning Technology Software and Applications: Oversee the selection, acquisition, development, integration, and maintenance of software and applications that support teaching, learning, and research.
  • Ensure Security and Reliability: Ensure the security, reliability, performance, and scalability of academic and learning technology software and applications.
  • Provide Technical Support and Training: Offer technical support and training to faculty, staff, and students to ensure they have the necessary skills to effectively use technology.
  • Collaborate with the Henneke Center: Work with the Henneke center to offer workshops in technology and pedagogical best practice.
  • Support Faculty in Learning Technology Adoption: Support individual faculty to incorporate learning technologies to achieve better student learning.
  • Evaluate and Monitor Technology Effectiveness: Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of academic and learning technology software and applications.
  • Stay Current with Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends and assess their value for the university.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Educational Technology or Related Field: A master's degree in educational technology, instructional design, or a related field is required.
  • 5-7 Years of Experience in Academic Technology: 5-7 years of progressive experience in academic and learning technology software and applications development and management, preferably in higher education or a similar complex environment.
  • Experience with Learning Technology Platforms: Experience with various academic and learning technology platforms, such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.
  • Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: Highly self-motivated and directed, with excellent verbal and written communications skills (both technical and non-technical).
  • Proven Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to multitask effectively and efficiently to successfully perform assignments.
  • Ability to Work with Diverse Stakeholders: Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and vendors.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral Degree in Educational Technology or Related Field: A doctoral degree in educational technology, instructional design, or a related field is preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Proficiency in Typing and Computer Use: Proficiency in typing and using a computer keyboard for extended periods.
  • Ability to Communicate Effectively: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to Reach and Use Office Equipment: Ability to reach for items on shelves or in cabinets and use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, handle files, and perform other tasks.
