Position Overview:
As an External Events Manager at HNTB, you will have the opportunity to craft a career that is significant while contributing to communities that are essential to us all.

With over a century of experience, we have been providing solutions for some of the most intricate infrastructure projects nationwide. This is an exciting time to become part of our team of employee-owners.

This role involves creating impactful and memorable experiences for clients and stakeholders associated with HNTB's Southeast Division industry organizations, in addition to developing and overseeing industry engagement initiatives for division and office leadership.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that external events reflect the HNTB brand positively.
  • Maintain partnerships with key industry organizations, vendors, and client agencies.
  • Collaborate with external partners and client personnel to uncover value, build trusted relationships, and deliver sophisticated events.
  • Develop comprehensive event plans that encompass venue selection, timelines, budgets, catering, transportation, accommodations, and other event logistics to guarantee seamless execution.
  • Source, assess, and negotiate with partners on all facets of organizing and executing successful events.
  • Maintain regular communication with HNTB's Industry Engagement Director and relevant stakeholders, proactively sharing event updates and suggesting necessary improvements.
  • Assist the Industry Engagement Director and other relevant personnel in formulating annual budgets for external events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field along with 8 years of relevant experience in corporate, non-profit, or agency event planning is required. Alternatively, 12 years of related experience may substitute for the degree.


Skills and Attributes:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in event operations and management, on-site activations, and integrated communications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
  • A strong interest in client engagement and staying informed about transportation technologies.
