Role Overview

As a Janitorial Operations Lead, you will oversee and manage the daily operations of the janitorial contract for the Library of Congress - Jefferson Building in Washington, DC. You will play a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of custodial workers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor the work of the custodial team to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and payroll information.
  • Comply with all established company policies and procedures while upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data.
  • Inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address any cleaning or maintenance needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a janitorial or custodial environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
