Medical Records Supervisor

Telecare is a leading provider of behavioral health services, and we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Supervisor to join our team. As a Medical Records Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the medical records staff, including Medical Records Technicians and Ward Clerks, and ensuring the maintenance, storage, and processing of all medical records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and standard professional and medical record keeping practices.
- Monitor and track compliance with legal documents and correspondence with conservators/guardians.
- Prepare and process clinical records of members served who are admitted to/discharged from the program.
- Audit clinical records for completeness and adherence to standards.
- Ensure data is collected accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify accuracy of data.
- Ensure members served information, admissions, discharges, eligibility information, outcome data, and other pertinent information is documented within specified time limits.
- Create and run reports to confirm accuracy of data and make corrections according to County instructions within specified timelines.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of ICD-DSM IV/V required.
- Three years of experience required as a Medical Records Technician, Ward Clerk, or equivalent.
- CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- RHIT or RHIA credential through the American Medical Association (AHIMA).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Skills:
- Knowledge of EHR software, Microsoft Office Applications, and the ability to operate basic internet software.
- Able to accurately enter data into a database.
- Send/receive emails and attachments.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift and carry items weighing pounds or less as well as to frequently reach, twist, squat, kneel and do simple grasping occasionally. The position requires manual repetitions, deviations and dexterity.
