Position: Mid to Senior Level Systems Engineer

Role Mission:

This role involves providing engineering support to the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Air & Missile Defense (AMD) Mission Command Product Office, focusing on Army Air and Missile Defense systems and Mission Command systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), government personnel, and system operators.
  • Develop comprehensive system-level concepts to address complex challenges involving multiple systems.
  • Define external interfaces and outline system behavior, performance metrics, and acceptance criteria to support hardware and software engineering teams.
  • Lead reviews and manage feedback effectively.
  • Utilize a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approach for concept development.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and either reside in or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
  • Significant experience in systems engineering is required.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is essential: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirements decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance, with potential for higher classification levels.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressively complex experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated initiative and teamwork capabilities in a small team environment are important.
  • Experience in systems engineering for DoD programs, particularly in Army Air and Missile Defense, is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with modeling tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence, as well as SAFe Agile methodologies, is advantageous.
