Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as the Senior Systems Engineer, you will act as a technical authority supporting advanced projects, collaborating closely with Engineering and Program Management leadership. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing engineering and scientific direction in conducting technical assessments, trade studies, research, development, and evaluation to guide system definition and realization.
  • Leading a diverse team of engineers and scientists in utilizing digital engineering and model-based systems engineering to develop operational concepts, feasibility assessments, and the design and evaluation of hardware and software for new systems, modifications, and upgrades of naval weapon systems.

The primary aim of this position is to apply sound engineering principles and structured guidance to ensure the effective execution of technical strategies and objectives while maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, management, and customer representatives regarding operational and design choices, technical risk management, requirements definition, and the overall systems engineering process.

Required Qualifications

Typical educational background and experience include: a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in leading systems engineering efforts; or a Master of Science in Engineering or a related field with at least 8 years of pertinent experience.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to successfully manage complex systems engineering tasks.
  • Experience in conducting research, analysis, trade studies, integration, and testing of sophisticated systems.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering and model-based systems engineering methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with strategic deterrence and missile defense systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Full-Time Salary Range: $211,100. This range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries influenced by various factors, including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, along with candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
