About the Role

The ASSISTments Foundation, a rapidly expanding non-profit in the educational technology sector, is on the lookout for a dedicated and versatile instructional leader to enhance the adoption and effective use of ASSISTments within Maryland's public education system.

In this role, you will be the primary liaison and support for our partner districts, schools, and educators, serving as the essential link between our partners and the foundation's team as the sole local representative.

Your leadership will be crucial in driving equitable mathematics outcomes for numerous middle school learners.

This position reports directly to the Director of Teacher Engagement at The ASSISTments Foundation.

We are looking for a full-time candidate to assist all district partners, but we are also open to individuals interested in contract work if they are a strong match for one of our district partners.

Please note that while this role is remote, travel within Maryland will be necessary, thus candidates located in central Maryland are preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support District and School Partners: Become an authority on all aspects of ASSISTments.
  • Foster close, collaborative relationships with partner administrators, coaches, and teachers to promote strong usage and drive impact for educators and students.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality in-person training and impactful coaching for teachers to enhance their instructional practices with ASSISTments.
  • Provide ongoing virtual support as necessary to ensure successful implementation.
  • Manage logistics and documentation related to supporting schools.

Data and Progress Monitoring
  • Develop implementation roadmaps that outline goals, vision, and success metrics at both the school and district levels.
  • Create and utilize systems to continuously assess implementation success and training quality based on key performance indicators.
  • Generate internal and external reports that highlight implementation progress and satisfaction among all stakeholders.
  • Identify and relay key insights on resources and products to the ASSISTments team to facilitate iteration and improvement.

New Partner Recruitment
  • Represent ASSISTments confidently at information sessions and other events that generate interest and enthusiasm for our initiatives.
  • Engage and recruit new potential school and district partners.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in K-12 education, preferably in mathematics, with a focus on supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading instructional initiatives across schools and districts (e.g., as an instructional coach or program manager).
  • Experience in developing and facilitating high-quality professional learning and coaching for mathematics educators.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) with senior district, state, and school-level administrators, as well as teachers.
  • Experience in coordinating cross-team projects, managing timelines and stakeholders, and devising creative solutions towards clear objectives with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability, effectively fostering robust relationships across a variety of stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to equity in education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within the Maryland education system.
  • Knowledge of and experience with using ASSISTments (note that this individual will need to become an expert in ASSISTments and possess a strong desire to learn).
  • Familiarity with Illustrative Math and/or Open Up Resources.
