Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a knowledgeable Quality Assurance Systems Specialist to oversee our Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring adherence to ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100 standards. The ideal candidate will possess an Associate of Arts degree in a relevant technical field, complemented by at least five (5) years of quality assurance experience, or a comparable mix of education and experience. A minimum of three years of experience with ISO or AS 9100 quality systems is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the completion, review, filing, and reporting of records, while developing and delivering user training.
  • Analyze and enhance selected Quality Assurance Systems, including:
  • Internal Audits
  • Supplier Survey Audits
  • Document Control
  • Inspection Records
  • Controlled Change Notice (CCN)
  • Quality Plan Deviation
  • Non-conforming Product Review (NPR)
  • Gage Management (Calibration) System
  • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAR/PAR)
  • Maintain and update the Quality SharePoint site for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews.
  • Implement and refine standards and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS 9100, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on the effectiveness of Quality Systems.
  • Act as a representative of Wagstaff and the quality assurance team during interactions with auditors, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
  • Conduct analyses of Quality Assurance Systems for potential improvements.
  • Participate in testing system modifications and their implementation.
  • Document and report any software defects identified.
  • Engage in problem-solving teams and defect analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members through cross-training.
  • Audit existing quality system processes in relation to specific projects and orders.
  • Maintain comprehensive team documentation and records.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Be prepared to work beyond 40 hours a week to meet business objectives when necessary.
  • Inspect, audit, and report on materials, services, processes, and products to ensure they meet the company's quality standards.
  • Participate as an auditor in the internal auditing program.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate of Arts degree in a relevant technical discipline, with a minimum of five (5) years of quality assurance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • At least three years of experience with ISO or AS 9100 quality systems.
  • Proficient understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100 standards.
  • General knowledge of management system auditing practices.
  • Periodic vision assessments to meet aerospace standards.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical documents, including prints and drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Capacity to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Proficient in relevant business software applications.

Work Environment:

The role is primarily conducted in a well-lit, climate-controlled office environment, with regular close computer work required. Physical exertion is minimal, and the office noise level is generally moderate. Interaction with manufacturing shop floor employees may occur, exposing the employee to various manufacturing risks. Coordination with shop floor management may be necessary before entering the area, and appropriate personal protective equipment is required.
