Job Summary

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing mechanical product inspections using hand and automated inspection tools, supporting data collection and quality system initiatives, and following all departmental procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Visual and Dimensional Inspections: Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of mechanical products using hand and automated inspection tools.
  • Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings: Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Operate Hand and Automated Inspection Tools: Operate hand inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges, and automated inspection tools, such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Collect and Process Inspection Data: Collect and process inspection data using computer software and tools.
  • Support Quality System Initiatives: Support quality system initiatives, including planning and completing first articles.
  • Participate in Team Meetings: Participate in team meetings and effectively communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
Qualification Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 Years of Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role.
  • Knowledge of Hand and Automated Inspection Equipment: Knowledge of and experience with hand and automated inspection equipment.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literacy and ability to process inspection data in a timely manner.
  • Quality Experience in Aerospace or Related Industry: One year or more quality experience working in an aerospace, military, or related mechanical product facility.
Education
  • Associate's Degree in Science: Two-year associate's degree in science or a related field.
  • High School Education or Equivalent: High school education or equivalent, with significant positive experience with quality initiatives.

Preferred Skills
  • GD&T: Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Quality Inspection Experience: Experience with quality inspection and quality control processes.
  • PPAP Process Experience: Experience with the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • AS9100 Experience: Experience with the AS9100 quality management system.
Salary Information

$22 - $28 per hour
