Position: Business Analyst (Banking or Financial Sector)

Location: Washington, DC - Hybrid

Employment Type: Full Time

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to engage with our clients in the banking and financial domain. This role is pivotal in understanding client requirements and fostering strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with business clients to comprehend their needs and requirements, ensuring a robust client relationship.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment to ensure a shared understanding and agreement on proposed solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases, requirements documentation, use cases, test plans, and operational strategies.
  • Document and analyze business processes and workflows effectively.
  • Create business cases to assess the viability of technology initiatives.
  • Identify and gather business and functional requirements by collaborating with end-users, leading the documentation and analysis process.
  • Design and implement test cases for application development and deployment projects.
  • Work closely with IT teams to evaluate existing solutions and explore new options to meet business needs.
  • Utilize rapid prototyping techniques to illustrate current and future processes and designs.
  • Maintain a detailed record of requirements and agreements, contributing to project change control and managing issues.
  • Support the successful design, testing, and implementation of applications that align with business objectives, including the development of training materials and conducting training sessions.
  • Document and oversee issues and actions related to IT applications and projects.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders and management using MS PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Assess applications and IT environments, identifying gaps between current and desired states.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience in the banking and financial sector, with knowledge of risk management and finance concepts.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Experience in defining and implementing technology solutions within a major financial institution.
  • Extensive background as a Business Analyst in a large financial organization.
  • Strong experience in gathering business requirements and developing functional specifications, particularly in use cases and test case development.
  • Familiarity with various system development lifecycle methodologies and the ability to tailor artifacts accordingly.
  • Detail-oriented and solution-focused, demonstrating strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and experience with writing basic SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages is a plus, with a preference for C#.
