Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Analysis: Act as a Business Analyst for Capital Markets, specifically focusing on Liquidity Management, Issuances, buybacks, derivatives valuations, and trade life cycle accounting.
  2. Stakeholder Management: Build stakeholder consensus and ensure everyone is on the same page in agreement and can visualize the proposed solution.
  3. Requirements Gathering: Develop business cases, requirements, use cases, test plans, test strategies, test cases, and operational procedures and plans.
  4. Coordination: Coordinate with fiduciary reviewers, such as Enterprise Architects and OIS, to provide them with the necessary information using their artifacts and support related security testing.
  5. Procurement: Participate in the procurement of COTS solutions, including preparation of Request for Proposals (RFP), cost estimates, benefits realization summary inputs for procurement committee and IT Governance.
  6. Prioritization: Ability to effectively prioritize requirements and maintain scope on a tight leash.
  7. Documentation: Document business processes and workflows.
  8. Collaboration: Collaborate with Project Managers, Tech Leads, Solution Architects, Developers, etc. to determine if solutions currently exist (internally or externally) or whether new solutions are feasible to meet business requirements and meet project milestones and timelines.
  9. Rapid Prototyping: Leverage rapid prototyping approaches to present as-is/to-be processes/workflows and rough designs of the proposed solution.
  10. Support: Provide overall support to ensure the successful design, testing, and implementation of applications that support the business unit. Also, provide support in developing training materials and conducting training.
  11. Change Management: Maintain a comprehensive chronological trail of requirements and agreements and actively contribute to the project change control process. Document and manage issues and actions.
  12. Evaluation: Participate in the evaluation of new products or initiatives to determine the technology support required.
  13. Analysis: Evaluate applications and IT environments and analyze gaps between current and desired states.
  14. Recommendations: Propose recommendations based on industry best practices.
  15. Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and oversee their deliverables (This includes reviewing proposed solutions and delivered code).

Requirements:

  • Business Acumen: The nature of this function demands that it be led by a Business Analyst with keen business analytic ability to ensure that opportunities are seized to optimize efficiency, effectiveness (elimination of redundant tasks), and outstanding communication skills.
  • Knowledge and Experience: The candidate must possess a good control of changing corporate objectives in a dynamic marketplace. Moreover, the candidate must exhibit a clear comprehension and appreciation for the postulates and practice of IT Governance.
  • Project Management: Candidate must have a deep understanding and experience with Project Management and its many facets.
  • External and Internal Ratings: Familiarity with external and internal ratings.
  • Front & Back Office Business Processes: Knowledge of front and back office business processes.
  • Reporting & Downstream Datamarts: Familiarity with reporting and downstream datamarts.
  • Market Data: Knowledge of market data.
  • Plain Vanilla & Structured Instruments: Familiarity with plain vanilla and structured instruments (bonds & swaps with complex payouts/optionality).
  • Trade Lifecycle: Knowledge of trade lifecycle.
  • Trade Capture: Familiarity with trade capture (Pega MarkitWire).
  • Settlement & Settlement Messaging: Knowledge of settlement and settlement messaging (SWIFT).
  • Accounting: Familiarity with accounting (in-house subledger).
  • Treasury & Capital Markets: Knowledge of treasury and capital markets (fixed income & derivatives).
  • Risk Management: Familiarity with risk management, specifically liquidity risk.
  • WB Loans: Knowledge of WB loans products, including IDA products and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Finance, MBA, or related field.
  • Experience: 8 years of professional experience in Capital markets domain.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Business Analysis Experience: Solid experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Presentation Skills: Be adept at presenting agreed concepts to senior audiences and ensuring that the business architecture definitions are clear and signed off with any assumptions or dependencies clearly identified and mitigated.
  • Teamwork and Consensus Building: Ability to negotiate and facilitate tradeoffs and build consensus and commitment to a recommended direction among multiple stakeholders with broadly divergent frames of reference.
  • Personal Integrity & Effectiveness: Highest personal and professional integrity as demonstrated through strong personal values as well as consistent words and actions.
  • Conceptual, Analytical, and Judgmental Skills: Proven conceptual, analytical, and judgmental skills.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and SQL is required.
  • Personal Organization Skills: Excellent personal organization skills and ability to take things to closure without follow-ups.

Additional Qualifications:

  • CFA Candidate or Degree in Risk Management: CFA candidate or degree in Risk Management.
  • Strong Organizational Skills and Business Judgment: Ability to distinguish between what is and is not critical and to balance on both strategic and short-term issues.
  • Strategic Vision: Must have a track record of understanding and translating clients' business needs into a coherent IT vision with deliverables.
  • Desirable Knowledge: Desirable knowledge of VBA, PL/SQL, and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI.
  • Capital Markets Trading System: Knowledge of a Capital Markets trading system (such as Murex or Summit).
  • Project Management Knowledge: Knowledge and experience in the area of Project Management.
