Job Summary

Harnett Co is seeking a skilled Utility System Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water and sewer pumping stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Check supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system to identify issues with waste lift stations and water booster pump stations.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on generators, adjust valves, and check tanks for leaks.
  • Inspect and repair mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, and control panels.
  • Notify others of problems and perform on-call work as scheduled or as needed for emergencies.
  • Drive and operate a vehicle to travel as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of related work experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Possession of Certification in Maintenance (Grade 1) desired.
Working Conditions

The employee is subject to working in both inside and outside environments, in extreme hot and cold weather, and exposure to various hazards such as loud noises, vibration, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation, and oils.
