New York, New York, United States Chubb Full time
Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Property Claims Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough reinspections of both open and closed claims involving contractors from the Chubb Trusted Service Network and other service providers. The primary objective is to ensure the accuracy of loss assessments, the nature of damages, coverage details, and the construction estimates provided.

The successful candidate may also support the Property Field Staff in monitoring the progress of reconstruction efforts to ensure they align with established timelines, along with other related tasks as needed.

Additionally, the selected individual will hold regular meetings with preferred vendors within their designated area to offer constructive feedback on quality and customer service, aimed at enhancing the overall performance of Chubb's Trusted Service Network. They will also serve as the main point of contact for resolving complaints related to network vendors.

The Property Claims Inspector will collaborate with the First Party Audit Team and senior leadership to pinpoint training opportunities for Outside Adjusters, focusing on technology application and adherence to Property Best Practices Guidelines. Responsibilities include engaging with policyholders and independent adjusters, maintaining an active log of reinspections and training needs, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role is designed to be remote, allowing for work from home or a local branch. However, travel within the assigned territory is essential, with occasional overnight trips to more distant locations. There may also be a need to travel outside the designated area to assist other offices during significant loss events.

Candidates should ideally reside in a location that provides convenient access to the New York City region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred. Relevant industry certifications such as AIC, SCLA, or CPCU are advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in outside property claims or reinspections, demonstrating:

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance policies, investigative methods, and legal regulations.
  • The ability to cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships with both internal teams (Home Office Claim Management, First Party Audit Team, Field Claim staff) and external stakeholders (policyholders, agents, vendors).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, CoreLogic Tools, Symbility, and/or Xactimate, along with tablet applications.
  • Familiarity with current construction practices and costs, including the capability to draft estimates and perform valuations for both personal and commercial properties.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, complemented by a strong customer service focus.
  • Robust analytical and negotiation abilities, with experience in training others on claims handling procedures.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Property Best Practices Guidelines.
