Position Summary:
The Property Damage Claims Specialist will oversee a portfolio of first and third-party property damage claims from start to finish, focusing on claims related to automobile, general liability, and inland marine insurance policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess insurance coverage for claims
- Conduct thorough investigations into liability and damage with the assistance of desk and field investigators/appraisers
- Analyze liability and damages based on collected evidence and relevant laws
- Manage reserving and payment processes using IT systems
- Provide timely and precise communication to claimants, agents, and insured parties
- Achieve favorable resolutions for claims while delivering exceptional customer service
- Handle subrogation processes
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred
- Proven experience in managing first and third-party property damage claims related to automobile and general liability insurance
- Familiarity with claims adjusting and basic insurance coverages
- Possession of a NY Independent Adjuster's License
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to resolve issues and complete tasks
- Experience with bodily injury claims, municipal claims, and litigation is advantageous
