Job Summary

The George Washington University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Technical Architect to lead the development and implementation of the university's technology strategy. This is a key leadership role that will require the successful candidate to have a deep understanding of the university's business needs and the ability to translate those needs into effective technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technology Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the university's business objectives and supports the delivery of high-quality services to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Infrastructure Planning: Plan, design, and implement the university's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and security systems.
  • Application Development: Lead the development of new applications and the enhancement of existing ones to support the university's business needs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with stakeholders across the university to understand their technology needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Provide leadership and guidance to technical teams and mentor junior staff to help them develop their skills and expertise.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a technical leadership role, with a strong background in technology strategy, infrastructure planning, and application development.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, including experience with cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
