Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Technician to join our team at the Bureau of Naval Personnel. As a Financial Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolve customer issues by initiating follow-up on outstanding actions.
  • Use a financial management system to amend data and ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze financial data to identify transaction errors and discrepancies.
  • Conduct research to resolve financial or informational discrepancies.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must meet the qualifications outlined in the job announcement.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing auditing services for pay transactions in accordance with procedures and provisions of statutes, precedent decisions, regulations, and policies; 2) Maintaining and reconciling accounts, in addition to preparing and analyzing reports; 3) Maintaining pay accounts and determining/authorizing entitlements; and 4) Examining documents for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
