Support for New Graduates

Newly graduated registered nurses (RNs) will benefit from a tailored support system. All RNs entering their first nursing position are invited to participate in a comprehensive Nurse Residency Program in conjunction with nursing orientation.

Unit Overview

IU Methodist's A3North is a 29-bed Medical/Surgical unit dedicated to the care of patients with cardiovascular conditions, including congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

This unit also specializes in the management of patients recovering from interventional cardiovascular surgeries such as CABG, valve replacements, heart catheterizations, and peripheral vascular procedures including revascularization and amputations.

Unit Achievements and Culture

Our unit boasts multiple Capstone Preceptors for nursing students and a supportive environment from leadership for both new and experienced nurses.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN); a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Graduates must have completed a nationally accredited nursing program. Additional advanced Life Support certifications may be required based on unit or department specialty in accordance with patient care protocols.
