Music Education Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Music Instructor to deliver exceptional music education to students ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade. The ideal candidate will be passionate about nurturing young musical talents and fostering a love for music.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement engaging music lessons that cater to the diverse developmental levels and interests of students.
  • Instruct students in fundamental music concepts, theory, and techniques across various instruments and vocal styles.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration and growth in musical abilities.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to integrate music into the broader academic curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Organize and lead rehearsals for school music groups, including choirs, bands, and orchestras.
  • Prepare students for performances, recitals, competitions, and other musical events throughout the academic year.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their musical development.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming music studio environment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper equipment maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in music or related field preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and quick to learn new software.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong background in customer service.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience in a classroom setting.
  • Experience in developing and executing age-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and maintain student engagement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated success in fostering student academic growth and mastery in music.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in music education.
  • Proficiency in teaching a variety of musical instruments and vocal techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, history, and various genres.
  • Passion for music education and a commitment to developing students' musical skills.
