Job Summary

Shining Stars Montessori Academy PCS is seeking an experienced music educator to join our team. As a dynamic and collaborative member of our faculty, you will be responsible for planning and teaching music classes to students in grades PreK3 through 6.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Music Programs: Create and implement comprehensive music programs that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our students.
  • Collaborate with Faculty: Work closely with class teachers and other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Assess and Evaluate Student Progress: Use formative and summative assessments to inform teaching practice and measure student progress in music.
  • Communicate with Parents and Staff: Establish respectful communication and relationships with parents and staff to ensure a positive and supportive school community.
  • Participate in Committee Work: Contribute to committee work and other administrative responsibilities to support the overall mission and goals of the school.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field required; Master's degree in Education with a specialization in music and/or curriculum and instruction preferred.
  • Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching students aged 3-12 years old preferred.
  • Music Background: Demonstrated success in raising the arts appreciation levels of traditionally under-served students; prior experience as a musician or music educator/teacher preferred.
