Job Summary: We are in search of a seasoned and forward-thinking LTL Manager to oversee and enhance our Less-than-Truckload (LTL) operations. In this crucial role, you will manage all facets of LTL freight operations, from negotiating with carriers to tracking shipments, ensuring our services achieve the highest standards of efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role emphasizes the growth and development of our LTL coordinators, where you will mentor, train, and motivate the team to excel and deliver results. You will work closely with sales teams, customers, and carriers to build strong relationships, streamline operations, and implement innovative solutions that contribute to the long-term growth and profitability of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service Excellence: Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met and expectations surpassed.
  • Freight Management: Process transportation requests, classify freight, and secure optimal carrier rates for LTL shipments.
  • Carrier Procurement: Identify and negotiate with reliable carriers to ensure competitive pricing and superior service while fostering long-term relationships.
  • Shipment Tracking: Oversee daily shipment monitoring from pick-up to delivery, providing timely updates and addressing any issues such as delays or damages.
  • Technology Optimization: Leverage and enhance existing technology, including TMS and other applications, to boost efficiency and accuracy in the LTL process.
  • Problem Resolution: Collaborate with the sales team and management to swiftly resolve customer complaints or issues, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Work with field sales and other departments to create a unified approach to customer acquisition, retention, and service excellence.
  • Team Development: Supervise LTL coordinators, focusing on their growth and development through guidance, training, and performance feedback.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, capable of effective negotiation and maintaining strong relationships with clients and carriers.
  • Team Development: Proven experience in leading and developing an LTL coordinator team, emphasizing training, mentoring, and performance enhancement.
  • Customer Focus: Strong dedication to customer service and achieving both company and personal objectives through a customer-centric approach.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly organized with a keen eye for detail, able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting, adaptable and capable of performing well under pressure.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the transportation sector, particularly in LTL freight logistics.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in freight logistics with a focus on LTL preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CRM systems.
