Function Overview: As a Mortgage Solutions Specialist at Neighbors Credit Union, you will be instrumental in enhancing the production of both primary and secondary mortgage offerings. This role emphasizes a sales-driven mindset, requiring innovative thinking, persistence, and a focus on member satisfaction. Your key responsibility will be to build and maintain relationships with external partners and community influencers to create new mortgage prospects. Your capability to align our mortgage and credit union services with the needs of our members, while ensuring a seamless experience, will be crucial for achieving success.

Key Responsibilities:

Mortgage Generation
  • Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with members and potential clients to generate new business for primary and secondary mortgages.
  • Achieve or surpass set mortgage production targets through effective sales tactics and commitment to service excellence.
Relationship Development
  • Establish and sustain strong connections with external partners, including real estate professionals, builders, legal advisors, financial consultants, and other influential contacts.
  • Engage actively in community initiatives and networking events to promote Neighbors Credit Union and its offerings.
  • Build and maintain a referral network to generate leads and enhance community visibility.
Sales and Customer Service
  • Employ a consultative sales approach to identify and address members' needs, providing tailored solutions offered by Neighbors.
  • Present and advocate for mortgage, consumer, and deposit products that align with members' financial objectives and credit profiles.
  • Deliver outstanding service throughout the mortgage application journey.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of mortgage products, policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all applications and documentation adhere to internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Keep accurate and current records of all sales activities and member interactions.
Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Work in tandem with mortgage processing and underwriting teams to ensure efficient loan processing, approvals, and closings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the credit union to enhance overall member service and achieve organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success in mortgage sales and origination.
  • In-depth knowledge of primary and secondary mortgage products, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, capable of engaging with diverse community stakeholders.
  • Highly driven and results-oriented with a creative approach to sales and problem-solving.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in mortgage origination software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Active participation in community and professional networks is advantageous.
  • NMLS registration in good standing is required.
Experience:

•One to three years of prior experience in real estate lending within a credit union or financial institution.

Education:

•Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

•Specialized training in real estate lending.

Knowledge:

•Thorough command of the English language (including punctuation and grammar).

•Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

•Familiarity with mortgage software and real estate compliance regulations.

Skills & Additional Requirements:

•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

•Professionalism, courtesy, and diplomacy are essential.

•Detail-oriented with excellent organizational capabilities.

•Must maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

•Confidentiality regarding all credit union business is mandatory.

•Flexible scheduling may be required, including evenings and weekends, to meet members' needs and networking opportunities.

Physical Requirements:

While performing job duties, the employee is required to communicate effectively and may need to sit for extended periods. The role may involve standing, walking, reaching, and lifting items weighing up to 20 pounds. Regular travel between branches is necessary, and the ability to work beyond standard hours may be required. Work Environment:

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, the employee may experience variations in climate and temperature. The typical noise level in the work environment is moderate. Local travel is a requirement for this role.
