Job Purpose

As a Quality Engineering Manager at M.C. Dean, you will be responsible for documenting, managing, implementing, and institutionalizing Quality Control across assigned programs. This role reports directly to the VP of Quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review contract documents to ensure all requirements are clearly understood.
  • Document program-level Quality Management Plans (QMPs) incorporating internal and external requirements.
  • Standardize QC processes and controls across programs to drive consistency.
  • Develop program-level stoplight charts to track control status and perform quality assurance of artifacts and CDRLs.
  • Document, implement, and institutionalize Quality Control Programs at the TO level to ensure work is performed as required.
  • Ensure documentation of Preparatory Meetings for each definable feature of work to review pertinent sections of plans and specs requirements.
  • Ensure documentation of Initial Inspections to assure required materials, personnel, and equipment are available.
  • Ensure documentation of Follow-up Inspections to ensure professional workmanship, quality, and safety.
  • Lead and/or facilitate project meetings to provide resolution to Quality issues and assist in documentation of site meetings.
  • Manage project close-out information, including receipt of required documentation from subcontractors.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor assigned quality representatives in the implementation of the Quality Control Plan.
  • Utilize internal and external applications to monitor, measure, and analyze relevant data.
  • Perform root cause analysis using various tools to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree in Electrical, Systems, or Computer Science with 10-12 years of experience.
  • Masters of Science degree with 7-9 years of experience.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience on construction projects specializing in at least one of the following disciplines: electrical systems, electronic security systems, information assurance, low voltage systems, architectural, mechanical, and fire alarm systems, SCADA automation.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing and coordinating submittal/RFI processes and performing quality control inspections of work with a minimum of 7 years of construction experience.
