Overview - Data Analyst II

We are seeking a talented Data Analyst II to join our team. This role is open to candidates nationwide and offers the flexibility of remote work.

Compensation: Salary range of $70,000 - $85,000 based on experience and qualifications.

As a Data Analyst II, you will play a crucial role in providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. Your analytical skills will be essential in assisting clients to achieve their business objectives. This position involves creating impactful reports and visualizations, as well as collaborating with customers to address key business inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate, document, and present regular and ad-hoc reports, accompanied by visualizations and analyses, tailored for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize various data sources to create comprehensive reports and visualizations through database querying and analytical tools such as SSMS/VBA, Power BI, Excel, and Access.
  • Enhance dashboards and reports using Power BI, integrating statistical data with visual elements.
  • Support clients by synthesizing in-house and third-party data, alongside industry benchmarks, to derive actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to illustrate program outcomes and propose strategic solutions to client challenges.
  • Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy while optimizing reporting processes.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and support the tools and protocols that underpin them.
  • Assist in testing new software prototypes and engage in the approval process for software releases.
  • Work with technical teams to standardize data ingestion and reporting tools.
  • Help develop and maintain data standards for effective data collection.
  • Document processes through Work Instructions or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Conduct peer reviews of analytic tools and reports produced by colleagues.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BA or BS degree required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science).
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a data or healthcare-related discipline from an accredited institution.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of relevant analytics experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years in healthcare management, including areas such as Health Plans and the Insurance Industry.
  • Preferred: Experience in Workers' Compensation.
  • At least 1 year of experience in communicating complex analytics findings to stakeholders.
  • Proficient in analytical software and database reporting tools.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with both in-house and third-party data sources.
  • Experience with project management and agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Preferred Advanced: MS Excel
  • Intermediate: SQL, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
  • Beginner (Preferred Intermediate): Power BI, MS Access

Additional Software Expertise:

  • Beginner: MS VBA, Tableau, SSMS, R, Python
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
