We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in Surgical Oncology to join our multidisciplinary team. This role encompasses the full spectrum of patient care, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough histories and physical examinations, recognizing both normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Formulate both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment strategies.
- Monitor the effectiveness of care plans and make necessary adjustments.
- Educate patients regarding their conditions and treatment options.
- Perform procedures as per training and credentials.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete all required paperwork.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Engage in program development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide direct care to adult patients with both acute and chronic conditions in various settings, including outpatient and inpatient.
- Oversee follow-up and postoperative care in the outpatient clinic.
- Coordinate preoperative and postoperative arrangements with primary care and anesthesia providers for patients traveling from afar.
- Work alongside primary care, specialty care, and inpatient providers to ensure comprehensive patient management.
- Execute advanced treatments and procedures upon verification of competency, including but not limited to: chemotherapy administration, paracentesis, pleural taps, tumor biopsies, and more.
