Position Summary:
The Water Treatment Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the Veolia Jamestown Water System, ensuring the delivery of superior water treatment services. This role involves strategic leadership and operational management, ensuring compliance with long-term service agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of strategic and operational plans to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure adherence to corporate, local, and state regulations governing water quality and safety.
- Foster strong relationships with regulatory bodies, community stakeholders, and clients.
- Oversee the training and development of staff to maintain high operational standards.
- Conduct client meetings and present progress reports, addressing any service-related concerns.
- Supervise project teams to ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols.
- Implement effective monitoring and recordkeeping practices across all operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency, quality, and safety standards.
- Promote a positive workplace culture that encourages communication and professional growth.
- Manage all aspects of Technical Services within the operational framework.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Environmental Science, or Engineering preferred.
- Extensive experience in water utility management or related fields, with a minimum of five years in a supervisory role.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of municipal water industry regulations and compliance.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Proficient in contract management and negotiations.
- Ability to develop strategic plans and proposals for municipal clients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with stakeholders.
Certifications:
- Required certifications in Water Treatment and Backflow Inspection.
- Valid driver's license in the state of residence.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform various physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and maintaining focus in diverse environments.
