Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and preventing injuries in athletes, as well as providing coverage to Jamestown Public School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat athletic injuries, utilizing sound knowledge and clinical techniques to provide optimal care for athletes.
  • Provide coverage to Jamestown Public School, attending practices, games, matches, and other events as needed.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs, utilizing protective equipment and techniques to reduce the incidence of injury.
  • Collaborate with coaches, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for athletes.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and parents regarding injury status and treatment plans.
  • Supervise and instruct athletic training student aides, and may serve as a clinical instructor for local college students.
  • Counsel and advise athletes on health-related issues, including nutrition, diet, exercise, and substance abuse.
  • Participate in marketing and promoting the athletic training program within the school district and medical community.
  • Attend athletic department meetings and participate in special assignments, projects, or in-services as needed.
Requirements
  • State license to practice as an athletic trainer.
  • Certification by the Board of Certification, Inc.
  • Membership in the National Athletic Trainers' Association and adherence to the NATA Code of Ethics.
  • BLS and AED certification, with CPR certification every other year.
  • One to two years of experience working in the fitness industry or athletic training, preferred.
Working Conditions

The Athletic Trainer will work variable days and hours per pay period, with office at Jamestown High School. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
