Position Summary:
The Chief Maintenance Mechanic is tasked with ensuring the effective and proper functioning of mechanical, instrumentation, and systems-based equipment to meet the company's quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose issues, rectify faults, and ensure the optimal operation of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and systems-based equipment to enhance plant performance.
  • Plan, supervise, and execute maintenance activities to meet service level requirements.
  • Oversee daily operations of mechanics, maintenance personnel, and electricians to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Manage contractors and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate training for mechanics and electricians in relevant technical skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of plant performance and repairs in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Identify and propose solutions for recurring maintenance challenges to optimize treatment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations among all team members.
  • Regularly inspect job sites and equipment, ensuring proper use of tools and safety equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding maintenance issues.

Work Environment:
Employees may be required to work in various weather conditions and must be prepared for the presence of mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as potential hazardous atmospheres. Adherence to safety protocols is mandatory, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience or technical training.

Skills and Abilities:
Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with environmental and safety regulations, possess strong technical skills in maintenance, and have the ability to communicate effectively with team members and management. Proficiency in computer systems for data entry and analysis is also essential.

Physical Requirements:
This role requires regular communication, mobility across the job site, and the ability to lift and move items up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities are necessary for the role.
