Overview:

The Family Support Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering family engagement and creating opportunities for volunteer involvement within childcare services. This position is dedicated to assisting families as they navigate their children's transition to kindergarten and actively participates in outreach and recruitment initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the team to develop public relations and recruitment strategies that enhance community engagement.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with strategic community partners to benefit families utilizing Head Start and Early Head Start services.
  3. Oversee recruitment efforts for early education services, ensuring thorough documentation and tracking of activities.
  4. Educate families on the advantages of holistic, asset-focused services and provide orientations as needed.
  5. Organize community and family events that align with targeted goals and objectives.
  6. Facilitate parent committees to promote family outcomes.
  7. Implement strength-based family development activities integrated with educational curricula.
  8. Coordinate volunteer opportunities at the childcare center.
  9. Support family and child transitions between classrooms and from programs to kindergarten.
  10. Identify families requiring individualized assistance and provide appropriate referrals, including the development of Family Development Plans.
  11. Maintain awareness of community resources and ensure timely referrals with follow-up.
  12. Regularly assess and report on customer progress towards individual goals and outcomes.
  13. Ensure accurate documentation of all customer service activities and maintain complete and precise customer records.
  14. Adhere to regulations, policies, and procedures while promoting integrated service delivery strategies.
  15. Foster positive relationships with colleagues, staff, and community partners while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  16. Participate in organizational committees and contribute to policy development and volunteer initiatives.

Qualifications:

A minimum of an Associate's degree is required, with a preference for a Bachelor's degree in Human Services or Education. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong public speaking and event planning skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.
  • The capacity to work flexible hours and maintain health requirements.
  • Experience in navigating community programs and providing compassionate service to diverse populations.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $17.33-$18.33 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
