Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Lead Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team at Veolia North America. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining water/wastewater treatment, processing, disposal, and testing equipment to ensure the highest quality of water treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain water/wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, engines, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, chemical feed, and odor control units.
  • Monitor and record operating conditions, observations, and data in the area shift log.
  • Ensure conformance to process specifications and troubleshoot operational problems.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including lubrication and minor adjustments.
  • Operate vehicles for plant operational purposes and practice good housekeeping in assigned areas.
  • Assign, monitor, and review the accuracy of work, and model and teach compliance with all work practices, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent with the ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Associate degree in a science or technical area strongly preferred.
  • Over five years of experience in a related position and environment with knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of water/wastewater treatment.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of all site-specific, facility-required PPE, including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.
  • Must consistently demonstrate the ability to operate all machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets under general supervision.
Working Environment

The successful candidate will spend 100% of their time in an operations environment, working in a team environment and willing to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. The position may require working outside in inclement weather conditions and driving a company vehicle to perform duties.
