Job Summary

Bonita Springs Utilities Inc is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Wastewater Operator Trainee to join our team. As a Wastewater Operator Trainee, you will be responsible for performing routine work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the wastewater treatment plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and machinery.
  • Monitor and adjust meters and gauges to ensure proper plant operation.
  • Maintain the appearance of the plant by performing tasks such as painting, weeding, and mowing.
  • Safeguard all assigned tools and equipment from theft, loss, or damage.
  • Monitor the performance of all equipment, gauges, and charts in the treatment plant and report any problems to supervisors.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair malfunctions, repair gauges, pumps, filters, and other controls and equipment.
  • Perform wastewater quality control tests using appropriate methodology.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety, environmental, and security standards.
  • Work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Ability to obtain State of Florida Certification Class "C" Water/Wastewater Treatment within 24 months.
  • Florida Driver's License.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a team environment, climb ladders, and work in crouching, climbing, and bending positions. The employee must be available to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
