Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Plant Operator to join our team at the City of Winter Park. As a key member of our water treatment team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient treatment of wastewater at our treatment plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and adjust various equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper biological and chemical treatment of wastewater
  • Collect and test water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment
  • Operate and maintain SCADA systems and security cameras
  • Assist with laboratory procedures and testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Approved courses in wastewater treatment
  • Valid State of Florida Driver's License, Class E or higher
  • Florida Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate Class "C", "B", or "A"
Working Conditions

This is a heavy work position requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force repetitively to move objects. The position requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping. Ability to ascend/descend stairs, scaffolds, and ladders. Ability to traverse about a variety of environments and obstacles throughout the city, with or without reasonable accommodation.
