We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Plant Operator I, II, or III to join our team at the City of Winter Park. As a key member of our environmental services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient treatment of wastewater at our treatment plants.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and adjust various equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper biological and chemical treatment of wastewater.
- Collect and test water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by approved courses in wastewater treatment.
- Valid State of Florida Driver's License, Class E or higher.
- Required certification - Florida Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate Class "C", "B", or "A" depending on level of experience.
This is a heavy work environment requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force repetitively to move objects. The incumbent must be able to ascend/descend stairs, scaffolds, and ladders, and traverse about a variety of environments and obstacles throughout the city.
