Position Overview:

Our client is in search of a Director of Industry Programming. This individual will oversee the comprehensive management of the Industry department, ensuring the effective execution of the strategic vision aimed at creating diverse, engaging, and thought-provoking programs and summits featuring top-tier speakers, panelists, and moderators. The goal is to enhance the company's reputation as a leading entity in the media sector. This role also involves cultivating the community for the organization and the International Council, which encompasses memberships, sponsorships, and partnerships.

  • Compensation: $50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously develop and present innovative programming that aligns with emerging trends and significant news developments, aimed at achieving membership and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to organize conferences and business summits for various industry programming events, including Dialogues, Next Big Thing Series, and the International Council Summit.
  • Source and secure high-caliber speakers, panelists, and moderators to enhance event prestige and content relevance.
  • Ensure that all objectives are met or surpassed, particularly regarding sponsors, partners, and memberships.
  • Work with other departments to guarantee a superior customer service experience.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of all programming materials and adherence to scheduling deadlines.
  • Facilitate effective communication and maintain a positive team atmosphere.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments, continuously proposing new programming ideas and partnerships.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships within the media sector.
  • Represent the organization at various industry and business events.
  • Utilize social media and the latest technologies to maximize visibility and impact.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure compliance with revenue targets and budgetary constraints.
  • Act as an ambassador for social media initiatives by sharing relevant content within personal networks to enhance community engagement.
  • Engage in additional projects as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in Media Industry Event Programming and management.
  • Possess executive presence and a network of connections, including relationships with C-suite executives in the industry.
  • Established relationships with key figures and leaders across the media landscape, including technology, sports, advertising, television, and interactive entertainment.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing conferences and business summits on schedule and within budget.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current issues and key players in the media and communications sectors.
  • Strong work ethic with a preference for in-person collaboration in a dynamic office environment.
  • Proven knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and ongoing debates.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities to guide cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on delivering innovative programming while leveraging all media platforms.
  • Technologically adept, energetic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, administrative, and managerial skills.
