Airport Passenger Bridge Maintenance Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
- Responsible for executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges.
- Provides mentorship and training to team members involved in maintenance and repair tasks, particularly in the absence of Senior Technicians or Supervisors.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Conducts fundamental maintenance tasks, which include preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance, as well as clearing system jams, performing shift inspections, and executing cleaning and mechanical adjustments.
- Diagnoses equipment malfunctions under the supervision of senior staff, ensuring operational safety.
- Seeks guidance and expertise from senior personnel while actively participating in training and mentorship opportunities.
- Offers direction and expertise to team members assisting in maintenance and repair efforts, fulfilling training and mentorship roles, and may assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of senior staff.
- Interprets repair manuals, basic schematics, and instructions from supervisors or managers.
- Operates in confined or elevated spaces while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection gear.
- Adheres to all company policies and federally mandated procedures, completing all required training programs.
- Completes necessary documentation related to work assignments in accordance with established protocols.
- Performs additional tasks as directed by management.
- Assists with basic maintenance activities such as cleaning and lubrication.
- Completes all safety training as mandated by the company.
- Complies with all safety programs, policies, and procedures set forth by the organization.
- May undertake other duties as assigned by management as needed.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- A minimum of 2 years of mechanical or electrical experience.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in an airport setting.
- Prior work with conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with common concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial context.
- Knowledge and skills in HVAC, welding/brazing, and plumbing.
- At least 2 years of experience with basic electrical and/or electronic systems.
- 3+ years of industrial mechanical and/or electrical experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with PLC logic and/or certification in Industrial HVAC.
- Proficient computer skills.
